David S. Pitney ~ Who am I ???

My Interests

I love the Northwest and am involved in a variety of activities.

I have worked at the Mini Mountain Ski School in Bellevue for 20+yrs... For the last 15yrs I oversaw the Saturday on snow ski program. Our students range in all ages from 18 months old to 70 plus years old. with the majority of the students being children. Learning the basic mechanics on the ramp indoors makes for such a smoother transition to the real snow. Helping the students work through the development of their skiing skills indoors on the moving ramps in Bellevue and then on the snow up in the mountains is another Great activity to be able to be involved in.

I have offered almost 400 hours of my time as a sailing instructor with the nonprofit: Center for Wooden Boats here on Lake Union; Seeing others develop and learn and or become proficient in their new sailing skills is a wonderful experience to be involved in.

Of course I also enjoy just about every other sport too. golfing, biking, white water rafting, SkiDooing and motor boating, and of course sailing, snowmobiling, hang gliding, motorcycling, car racing, small plane flying, rollerblading, horseback riding, scuba diving, snorkeling for lobsters at night with a flash lights on a reef in the tropics, and the list goes on and on....... :-)

I am a “Foodie” #Foodie, #Gourmet, #Sushi; I love almost all types of food: Pho Soups, Beefs and Lambs, Chickens and Porks, Salads and Sandwiches, Hawaiian Poki's and candied smoked Salmon, and all fresh, fresh Fish, especially for Susi's, French Sauces and American south BBQ's. It is all Good. And also, internationally, I love searching for delicious little tacos at the many roadside stands on the way to Cabo on the Baja of Mexico, or finding a tasty rice dish at a Sory Sory hut on one of the many Islands in the Philippines or having a university student in inner Mongolia take you to his favorite eating shop and sampling their favorite dishes, or some native dish at a the home of a Guatemalan coffee bean harvester, Or some impeccable dish in a fancy restaurant in Switzerland, the list of good food goes on and on....... :-) :-)

I enjoy traveling to both domestic and international destinations, and I have been to and eaten great meals in more than half of our American states.  I have been to more than eight of our countries around our planet. In these travels I have taught in a couple of colleges and just as rewarding as teaching I have been involved in about 150 construction projects around the world thus far. Helping many families who were living literally under plastic tarps and card board scraps to within days have a roof over there heads for the first time in years. Also here in the states; building homes for troubled kids, a home for unwed mothers and working on and upgrading the local city shelters for those that have run onto hard times.

In 2012 I transitioned out of the mortgages industry to my true passion, Real Estate transactions. As a result of my activity in Residential Loans, 2004-2012, I have extensive experience working in the mortgage industry where I interfaced with title companies, appraisers, and escrow companies throughout the entire loan process for several years.

In 2008 I closed my construction company  Custom Remodels Inc., Which I started my first year out of college back in 1988.  For many years worked in all phases of home construction and was also involved in numerous commercial office tenant improvement projects. As the company grew under my leadership, Custom Remodels Inc. moved into the government sector, taking on tenant improvement projects with the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force recruiting offices throughout Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Oregon. In 2008,  I closed the company in the Black.  I should have sold it to someone. one of my many," if only"s. :-)
